Vision Statement
Pet owners with low and fixed incomes are frequently unable to provide preventative health care for their healthy animals or afford medical care when their animals become ill or debilitated. Animals should not suffer because of their owners' financial restraints.
Adoptable animals are destroyed at an alarming rate everyday. Relinquished, abandoned, abused, aged and ill animals aren't given a second chance to find suitable homes.
Mission Statement
The mission of Compassionate Care Animal Center is to improve the health and well-being of animals in need and to provide shelter, medical care and an enriched environment to homeless animals.
Statement of Principles
The guiding principles are to:
- Provide quality, comprehensive veterinary care to animals
- Provide reduced cost veterinary care to animals from low to fixed income homes
- Reduce pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter programs
- Promote responsible pet care through preventative health care and educations
- Collaborate with community organizations to achieve common goals
- Provide a peaceful, healthy living environment for homeless pets regardless of age, illness or handicap until a suitable home can be found
Where we're headed
CCAC's capital campaign will raise the funds to build a facility that will allow us to fully meet our mission. Plans include:
- The purchase of three acres of land in central Connecticut
- Construction of a 5,000 sq. ft. full-service hospital that will provide services to individuals of all income levels
- Addition of a small sanctuary to comfortably house and treat 10-15 dogs and 25 cats with varying medical needs until suitable permanent homes can be found
